One season, two continents, one champion:

Valentino Catalano conquers the racetracks in 2025

The year 2025 stood for Valentino Catalano under a unique motto: the ultimate challenge on two continents. With an ambitious double program in the IMSA VP Racing Sportscar Challenge in the USA and the Michelin Le Mans Cup in Europe, the young German racing driver faced an unprecedented test of endurance – and mastered it with flying colors. The season was characterized by strategic masterfulness, driving dominance, and the relentless determination to reach the top.

Dominance in America: Champion of the IMSA VP Racing Sportscar Challenge

In the United States, Valentino Catalano set new standards. At the wheel of the #30 Duqueine D08 from GEBHARDT Intralogistics Motorsports, he established himself from the beginning as the driver to beat. With impressive consistency and superior speed, he confidently secured the championship title.

The season was a demonstration of his strength:

  • 8 impressive victories, including dominant performances in Daytona, at Virginia International Raceway, and at the season finale in Road Atlanta.
  • Early championship win even before the last race, which underscores his superiority in the series.
  • A perfect synergy with the team and the reliable Duqueine D08, which Catalano described as "a joy to drive."

European Trial by Fire: Podium at the legendary "Road to Le Mans"

While he was racing from victory to victory in the USA, Catalano faced the extremely competitive Michelin Le Mans Cup in Europe. The highlight of the season was undoubtedly his appearance at the prestigious "Road to Le Mans" event as part of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Together with his teammate Oscar Tunjo, he fought his way to an outstanding 3rd place in the fiercely contested field, proving that he belongs to the world elite even on the biggest stage of endurance racing.

Although the final result in the Le Mans Cup overall standings was 12th place, the European season showed above all one thing: Catalano's ability to adapt at the highest level and to compete against the best teams in the world.
